Q: How many delegates attend the WLC?

A: More than 1000 delegates will be attending the conference , including government leaders, corporate executives , scientists and researchers, and media representatives.

Q: What do I do if I want to participate in the conference ?

A: You may register online at https://www.chinalakes.org.cn/Euser/Reg_EN.asp . Alternatively, y ou may also complete the registration form and have it sent back to the Secretariat of WLC by email or fax. Upon receiving your registration request, Secretariat will call you to confirm your registration details . If you choose to make the payment by wire transfer or credit card . T he Secretariat wi ll e mail or fax you the Payment Notice. The receipt shall be sent to you within one week by courier services after receiving the payment and a confirmation letter will be sent to you by email or fax .

Q: How do I register for Conference upon arrival?

A: On October 31 and November 1, 2009, on- site registration services are available at the Conference Reception Desk located at various hotels . Confirmation letter from WLC Secretariat/passport/business card is requested for on-site registration. Most delegates shall be transferred to WLC by buses. Delegates are expected to provide flight information where possible. Each delegate shall get his/her pass and room number as allocated by the Secretariat at the Reception Center.

Note: Delegates should collect their badges at the reception center during registration. Badges should be worn at all times during all conference activities and related events. A ccess to conference venues will be denied without a badge. Badges are also required for meals and shuttle services. Delegates should immediately report to the Conference Information Centre in the event their badge is damaged or lost.

Q: Accommodation during the Conference?

A: The delegate could get his/her hotel name and room number upon registering at the Conference Reception Center or calling the Secretariat (Note: Calls about hotel details are only received after October 25). The delegate should clear all expenses incurred at the hotel when checking out. Due to limited hotel capacity during the conference, the delegate is required to contact the Secretariat in advance for any special requirements on hotel accommodation.

Q: What if I wish to cancel the registration?

A: If the delegate c ould not attend after registering and paying the registration fee, he/she may notify the Secretariat in writing in advance. 95% of the registration fee will be refunded if he/she sends out the notice of cancellation before October 15, 2009 . If notice of cancellation is received after October 15, 60% of the registration fee will be refunded.

Q: Registration deadline ?

A: The deadline for registration for the 13^th World Lake Conference is November 1, 2009. No registration will be accepted beyond the date .

Q: Registration fee?

A: Concessions are applicable for payment received before August 31 , 2009 .

The registration fee covers for all participation in all conference sessions and functions, conference materials , and publications . The registration fee, however, does not cover travel expenses , hotel accommodation and other expenses not related to the C onference. Spouses are invited to conference banquets but not to conference sessions, including lunch gatherings during conference .

Q: Accompanying persons/assistants?

A: Due to limited transport and accommodation capacities during the WLC, delegates are not encouraged to bring accompanying persons/assistants. A fee of $ 250 for each accompanying person will be charged for delegates who wish to bring someone along with them.

Q: Working language at the Conference?

A: Conference will be conducted in both Mandarin and English. Simultaneous interpretation is available at all conference sessions.

Q: How to dress during the conference?

A: Formal attire is required for attendance at all conference sessions and banquets.
