China International Lake Management and Technology & Equipment Exhibition will be held concurrently with 13th World Lake Conference this November. The exhibition showcases China's achievements in lake management and involves exhibits from NGOs worldwide and enterprises from Japan, Europe and North America.
Organizers
The 13th World Lake Conference is jointly organized by Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES), Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) and Wuhan Municipality, with support from key national agencies including the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC)
International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) was formed in 1986 as an international non-governmental organization (NGO), and given legal status in 1987 by the Japanese Environment Agency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
ILEC was organized with the aim of promoting environmentally sound management of natural and man-made lakes and their environments consistent with sustainable development policies by promoting international research and investigation, and by facilitating the exchange of findings and knowledge among the experts throughout the world.

Established in 1978, China Society of Environmental Sciences (CSES) is the earliest national social association specialized in environmental protection, and is now the largest organization on environmental sciences in China. Since its establishment, CSES has contributed significantly to the field of environmental protection, particularly in the promotion of scientific development, environmental protection, and public mobilization to participate in environmental protection initiatives. It is also the most prestigious academic society in the field of environmental sciences.
For the conference, CSES set up an Executive Council as a coordinating body for its 7 working groups and 28 sub-committees and professional groups. The 13th World Lake Conference capitalizes on a 42,000 strong team of volunteers comprising environmental technicians, environmental engineers, environmental education personnel, and environment administrators. The State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) and China Association of Science and Technology are the main supervisory organizations.

Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) was established on December 31, 1978 under the State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA), and is a national non-profit institute for environmental protection. CSES focuses primarily on conducting scientific studies on the environment, including research on water environment atmospheric environment, eco-environment, environmental engineering and technology, environmental security, clean production, and circular economy. A key player in charting the nation’s environmental management and protection strategies, CRAES also acts as a consultative agency providing scientific and technological advice to national environmental bodies.
With its vision of “Natural, Harmonious, Accumulation and Development”, CRAES attains a series of important national scientific and technological breakthroughs including in areas of environmental science theory, applied theory, and technological advancement and innovation. CRAES is an influential actor contributing to China’s environmental management and protection, making significant contributions in the resolution of national environmental crises, setting up environmental management systems, implementation of technical regulations and standards for environmental protection, development of pollution control technology and ecological protection measures, and in the promotion of an environmentally friendly society.
The Academy founded a total of 3 research laboratories and 18 academic agencies, which include 4 research institutes, 2 research centers, 5 scientific research institutions and 2 technical service units. The scientific research team comprises 3 academics from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 40 researchers and more than a hundred doctorate holders.
