China International Lake Management and Technology & Equipment Exhibition will be held concurrently with 13th World Lake Conference this November. The exhibition showcases China's achievements in lake management and involves exhibits from NGOs worldwide and enterprises from Japan, Europe and North America.
Special events held at the conference include the Governors Dialogue, Mayors Forum, Children Session, and the Student Session. These events are designed in line with the conference objective to foster international collaboration, as well as to allow participants to maximize their experience at the conference.
E1: Governors’ Dialogue

The theme of the Governors’ Dialogue is “Sharing international experiences, promoting lakes protection”. The session involves governors with experience in lake protection both overseas and in China. The dialogue facilitates the exchanges of past successes between governors and the exploring of new opportunities for international partnerships in lake environment protection efforts.

The theme of the Mayors’ Forum is, “Preserving lakes, consulting urban sustainable development”. The forum intends to create a platform for mayors of various cities to exchange their experiences in lake management and conservation, and to explore new avenues for sustainable urban water and lake conservation.

E3-A: Children Session: China-Korea-Japan Wetland Exchange Programme in Wuhan

The session aims to provide children and young generations with an opportunity to exchange their findings and experiences form their environmental protection and conservation activities in their country and to generate proactive interaction among them in order to develop a wide range of human resource and key players for future lake and wetland environment conservation
The Children Session is jointly organized by Ramsar Center Japan (RCJ), Wetland International China, Wetland Korea, Gyeognam Ramsar Environmental Foundation, and International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC).
E3-B: Student Session: How can we help to realize a low carbon emission society using Lake Basin Management?
Date & Time: November 3, 2009,1545-1730
The objective of the Students Session is to educate the next generation on water environmental issues and encourage them to join the discussion with internationally renowned scientists and government decision makers, as well as to exchange ideas and information on how we can conserve valuable water resources. The session will involve a discussion of cases from Lake Tai (Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in China)
The Student Session is organized by International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC), the chair of the session is Dr. Michio Kumagai (Director of Environmental Information, LBERI: Lake Biwa Environmental Research Institute)
