China International Lake Management and Technology & Equipment Exhibition will be held concurrently with 13th World Lake Conference this November. The exhibition showcases China's achievements in lake management and involves exhibits from NGOs worldwide and enterprises from Japan, Europe and North America.

Ren Guanping, secretary general of the Organizing Committee of 13th World Lake Conference and Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences met with Germany’s former Defense Secretary Rudolf Scharping in Beijing on 11th June.
Mr. Scharping now devotes himself to environmental protection work and pays great attention to 13th World Lake Conference. He have been actively promoting the Conference to major corporations in Germany.
Secretary-General Ren presented great importance that Chinese government attaches the 13th World Lake Conference to Mr. Scharping. Vice Minister of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Wu Xiaoqing, Vice Governor of Hubei Municipality Zhao Bin, Chairman of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences Wang Yuqing and Mayor of Wuhan Municipality Ruan Chengfa are made Directors of the Organization Committee.
Secretary-General Ren also introduced that preparation work is going on smoothly. Ministry of Environmental Protection considers World Lake Conference as a significant opportunity to impel the control work of lake pollution in China. Sewage treatment is one key project in this work. Eighty per cent of show area, about over 8,000 square meters, has been reserved so far. This exhibition features that governmental officers in administrative department of lake management, scientific researchers and enterprises will exhibit at one time, communicating with each other conveniently, thus speeding marketization of China’s lake management.
Mr. Scharping indicated that he would inform Germany Ministry of Environmental Protection, state governments, municipalities and relevant corporations etc. about that. He thinks that Germany has a great deal of experiences and technologies on lake management. The 13th World Lake Conference and its exhibition are worthwhile participating for Germany’s related organizations and corporations so as to go deep into China’s market of lake pollution control.
Wen Jie, deputy leader of exhibition department of Organizing Committee and Wu Lei, secretary of Secretariat Office also attended the meeting.
